The Seekers의 When the Stars Begin to Fall

1970년경 어느 여름 낮, 유명했던 Music Cafe에 갔다가 가사적힌 종이를 나눠 주며 가르치던 스피커에서 터져 나오는 청아한 소리에 나는 매료되고 말았다.
다만 반복되는 가사 중에 My lord what a morning과 When the stars begin to fall이 반복되었다.
이 가사는 The Seekers'라는 그룹의 노래였던 것이다.

The Seekers는 1962년 Judith Durhan, Athol Guy, Bruce Woodley 그리고 Keith Potger로 구성된 호주의 Folk Group이다. 호주 출신으로는 드물게 많은 히트곡을 발표하였고, 가스펠도 많이 소개하였는데
그중에 우리가 성가곡으로도 부르는,
"주님, 이 아침에"라는 곡이다.
1967년도 호주그룹 최초로 미국차트 1위를 했다.
"윤형주"가 부른 이 노래가 바로 Seekers가 부른 피지
원주민들의 이별곡을 번안한 것도 이제야 알게됐다.
